Company History
Clowder, as it exists now, was established in 2017. It was born out of an app development company formerly known as Pinxter that was launched by Sergei Dubograev and Dmitry Semiriazhko. The intention behind Clowder was to address a common engagement gap in professional communities: Members connected with each other and their organization during events, but they didn’t have a convenient, modern way to interact outside of those gatherings. And so Clowder’s year-round, mobile-first member community was born.
Although the word “Clowder” is usually used as a collective noun for a group of cats, its history stems from the idea of coming or huddling close together, which is what the platform Clowder strives to facilitate within professional communities. Advanced Solutions International (ASI), a leading provider of cloud-based software for associations and nonprofits worldwide that is best known for developing the iMIS Engagement Management System, acquired Clowder in 2023. News & Updates
Live Events 3.0 & Other Q1 2026 Platform Updates
In January 2026, Clowder announced a series of platform updates headlined by Live Events 3.0. This new feature replaces the previous structured event layouts with a fully modular management experience that allows organizations to tailor every aspect of each individual event, from agendas to exhibitors to participant surveys. Other updates rolled out in Q1 2026 include enhancements to the user interface for event agendas, one-to-one meeting capabilities, and configuration process improvements.
MemberTech Showcase 2026
Clowder was again featured in the ASI MemberTech Showcase in spring 2026, a free event where attendees get to see how all of ASI’s solutions work together to enhance member engagement and membership organization operations. Three events took place at the end of March for audiences in North America, Europe, and Asia and Oceania, all of which were recorded and can be re-watched. There are also two in-person MemberTech Showcase events taking place in the Washington, D.C. area in April and May of 2026.
